Audi TT RS unleashed: First drive review

Audi has released its first-ever RS model TT.

The hotter quattro all-wheel drive coupe is powered by a turbocharged direct injection 2.5-litre TFSI five-cylinder engine that can trace its origins back to Audi’s motorsport heritage and in recent years various Volkswagen commercial vehicles.

New Audi A8 takes limousine up a notch

More fuel-efficient V8s, eight-speed auto and fresh technology for Audi’s latest rival for the Mercedes S-Class, BMW 7-Series and Lexus LS limousines.

The new Audi A8 will go on sale in Australia next year with bigger dimensions than its key rivals, including its 5137mm length, 1949mm width and 2992mm wheelbase.

A new V10 engine makes the Audi R8 a serious contender for supercar supremacy.
The R8 5.2 FSI features a reworked front fascia with larger air inlets and an aggressive lower lip. The world’s first all-LED headlamps are a hallmark of the V10-powered car.
The 2010 Audi R8 5.2 FSI could be construed as a budget supercar — if such a thing exists. But you wouldn’t know it from the performance, which is world-class.

Audi won’t be No.1: BMW

BMW Australia says it is ready to repel a local sales assault by rival German car Audi, which has stated its intention to become Australia’s leading luxury brand by 2015.

BMW again considers Audi a competitor, with recently appointed managing director Stavros Yallouridis declaring he would “have to keep an eye” on the ‘third’ German brand that’s been catching its compatriots on the sales charts.

Audi is set to significantly revamp its luxurious A8 sedan.
The new Audi A8 is expected to introduce handwriting-recognition technology, allowing owners to program the satellite navigation without having to scroll menus.
